Nagaur Cattle Fair is the second largest cattle fair of Rajasthan, which is held every year in January or February. This year it is starting from 15th February and will continue till 18th February. This fair is also known as Ramdevji Cattle Fair and Nagaur Cattle Fair. Cattlemen used to come from far and wide in this fair to buy and sell their animals. Here many animals of good breeds can be seen. Every year about 75,000 camels, bulls and horses are traded here.
Nagaur Cattle Fair
Nagaur is a beautiful city situated between Bikaner and Jodhpur. This cattle fair is organized every year on Magh Shukla Saptami in Mansar village which is about 5 kilometers away from Nagaur city. People decorate their animals well before bringing them to this fair. Nagauri breed of bulls are sold in large quantities here. Apart from camels, cows, horses, sheep, spices are also traded here. Another main attraction of this festival is the chilli market. Red chilli of Nagaur is quite famous. Apart from this, you can buy beautifully carved wooden items, various items made of iron and leather.

Many types of games are also organized in this fair, among which there is a different pleasure in watching tug of war, camel and horse dance. You also get a chance to get acquainted with Kuchamani Khayal singing and the local art and culture of Nagaur.
How to reach?
Jodhpur is the nearest airport to reach here which is hardly 137 kilometers away. Alternatively bus services are available by road from cities like Jodhpur, Jaipur and Bikaner to Nagaur. Nagaur is also connected to cities like Indore, Mumbai, Coimbatore, Surat, Bikaner, Jodhpur, Jaipur etc. through rail.
