The number of patients is increasing daily because of the second wave of corona virus pandemic, due to which, weekly lockdown has been imposed on weekends in many states of the country and wearing of masks is mandatory in Uttar Pradesh. Owing to this, the impact of the second wave of corona virus pandemic is resulting on tourism too. As per the Archaeological Survey of India (ASI) it has been decided to close all the monuments, museums and protected sites of the country.
This concludes that nobody will be able to see all the monuments including the Taj Mahal till 15th of May now. As per Archaeological Survey of India, 3693 monuments and 50 museums will not be opened before 15th of May. During this period, the entry of tourists has been banned. Contrary to this, daily worship in Somnath temple and Puri Jagannath temple will be performed without devotees.
Due to avian influenza, found in dead crow, the Red Fort of Delhi was closed on 19th of January and will be continued till 15th of May. In totality, there are 170 historical sites in Delhi, the capital of the country, which includes Qutub Minar, Humayun’s Tomb and Red Fort. Tourists visit these places more. It is believed that around ten thousand tourists visit these places daily.
All the monuments of the country were closed in March last year due to Corona virus pandemic, but opened back in July as soon as situation returned to normal, It has been learnt that India has achieved the second position in terms of corona virus infection whereas the United States has been placed on top. The Archaeological Survey of India has taken this decision due to continuous increase of infection in people of India.
